Garland’s 15367 plastic mallet with 36″ handle is used to knock off ice buildup on vessels such as the RV Knoff, a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute research vessel as well as docks, piers and shipping locks. A real danger of working at sea in winter conditions is freezing water spray. Given sufficiently cold temperatures, the spray becomes a threat to any vessel as it freezes on contact and grows in size and weight with blowing spray from each new crashing wave. In most severe cases, the ship’s stability is compromised. The only option is to manually knock the ice off the ship.
So, what do you think ?
